Safety Architecture
Lou Joseph will be curating a show called Safety Architecture at the Martin Art Gallery Allentown, PA . U.S.A. this fall. A new body of medium to small ink drawings (around 25) were produced for the exhibition taking bits a pieces of architecture in Berlin, imagined structures and abstractions of the rib cage and the human skull. Architecture seems to be about parameters, boundaries. The architecture holding the brain and heart offer some protection but both are breached in life, just as our building constructions are shattered, for me we are in an age of collapsing architecture, theres nothing safe about it. I kept thinking about the Rolling Stones Lyrics, Gimme Shelter.
